AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — Some businesses that are still closed due to the coronavirus pandemic are pushing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to allow them to reopen.
The owners of 15 multi-location fitness clubs from Buffalo to New York will hold rallies across the state Thursday to push for gyms to reopen.
Catalyst Fitness is hosting the Buffalo rally at 281 Meyer Road in Amherst, starting at 1 p.m.
Gym owners are advocating for the numerous benefits of exercising and how they have plans to bring members back safely.
"[Our plan] was delivered to Gov. Cuomo's office, they thought the plan was fantastic, it was weeks ago, and we still have not heard anything," said Amy Bueme, CEO of Catalyst Fitness.
Gyms in 43 states and the Washington, D.C. have been allowed to reopen.
