GOWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — School is canceled Friday for students in the Gowanda Central School system due to the number of teachers and staff who are experiencing flu illnesses.
While students have the day off, faculty and staff are required to report for the work day.
According to the district, there are not enough healthy teachers and staff to operate the schools.
All afternoon and evening activities are also canceled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
