BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday he will not be attending the Buffalo Bills playoff game Saturday and he will give his ticket to an ECMC nurse.
Cuomo says he will not be able to attend the game due to having to rewrite the State of the State which is Monday. The governor cited the Georgia Senate runoff election as the reason for having to rewrite the State of the State.
After previously announcing he would attend the game a change.org petition was started by Jeffrey Dorenzo to "Ban Andrew Cuomo from Buffalo Bills Stadium playoff games."
The petition has over 40,000 signatures as of 12 p.m. Wednesday.
An ECMC spokesperson released the following statement:
“We are thrilled by Governor Cuomo’s generosity and for thinking of our front line nurses.”
