GENESEO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Livingston County Sheriff's Office and Geneseo Village Police conducted a joint investigation that led to the arrest of Brandon Augsbury of Geneseo.

25 year-old Augsbury was arrested on March 4th after law enforcement responded to Strong Memorial Hospital to investigate the injuries of a 3-month-old baby.

The initial investigation alleges that Augsbury caused significant brusing to the baby while it was in his care. During an exam, medical professionals found the child had injuries consistent with broken ribs that were in healing stage. Police say Augsbury also caused those injuries while he was living in the Town of York.

Augsbury is charged with felony assault in the 2nd degree and endangering the welfare of a child by the sheriff'd department. He was also charged by the Geneseo Police Department for endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in the 2nd degree. He's being held on $10,000 cash bond.

Child protective services are continuing their investigation.
