BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Western New Yorkers have enjoyed lower than normal gas prices this summer, and AAA of Western and Central New York says it's expected to continue.

This week, the average gallon of gas in Buffalo is $2.71, down three cents from last week, while slightly under the New York state average of $2.74 per gallon, down 26 cents from this time last year.

AAA says, "with the fall driving season on the horizon, lower demand -- even amid reduced stock levels – will likely help to push pump prices lower."

If current trends continue, gas prices are expected to be as low as $2.40 this fall, 16 cents lower than the current national average.
