BARKER, N.Y. (WKBW) — One day after the Barker Public Library and Village Hall were destroyed in a fire, a local library group is helping the area rebuild.

A Facebook fundraiser has been started for Barker's public library. The library is part of the Nioga Library System, which serves Niagara, Orleans and Genesee Counties. The organizer of the fundraiser says the Barker Public Library is a, "model for small libraries," and that, "its staff are dedicated, its children's and adult program offerings are creative, its policies and planning are on point."

The fundraiser has a goal of $6,000. If you'd like to donate, you can click here. The organizer says whether you can spare $5 or $500, every little bit helps. There is also a GoFundMe account for the library, which you can find here.
