TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW) — Former Erie County Legislator Chuck Swanick and volunteers will continue a Christmas Eve tradition by offering free Christmas trees to those in need.

The free trees will be offered in the parking lot behind the Philip Sheridan School located at 3200 Elmwood Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Swanick is teaming with Arida Tree Framers, Grabber and Son Landscaping Nursery, and North Towns Nurseries.

"Everyone should be able to have a Christmas tree during the holidays," Said Town of Tonawanda highway superintendent Bill Swanson.

Volunteers will assist with loading the trees into vehicles until 1 p.m.

The remaining trees will be left in the parking lot for anyone to take.
