BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A former Cheektowaga substitute teacher and coach has been indicted on child pornography charges.

A federal grand jury has returned an 18-count indictment charging 33-year-old Steven Gasiorek with production and receipt of child pornography, and enticement of a minor. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Buffalo confirms Gasiorek admitted to 'preying' on his own students and the list of victims is expected to grown "exponentially."

Prosecutors say Gasiorek posed as a teenage girl from California on social media to get pornographic images from underage boys.
The investigation surrounding Gasiorek surfaced in April.

Gasiorek was a substitute teacher and coach at John F. Kennedy Middle and High schools. Investigators raided his Lehigh Street home and seized a laptop computer and external hard drive allegedly containing images of child porn.

It stemmed from a criminal complaint in the state of Virginia where a 14-year-old boy reported he was communicating on his Instagram account with some one called 'LEXIGURL 1015' and sent pornographic images of himself at the urging of the user. The account was traced back to Gasiorek in Sloan.

Investigators say Gasiorek had been engaged in this illegal activity for several years and targeted a number of victims.

Members of the public, who may have information related to the case, are being asked to call the FBI at 716-843-1616.
