KENMORE, N.Y. (WKBW) — The former Chief of Kenmore Police, Peter Breitnauer, has admitted to stealing Hydrocodone from his department's medication drop box to feed his addiction to painkillers.
Breitnauer appeared in federal court, Thursday morning, for a plea hearing where he made the admission in front of a judge.
The former officer now faces a year in prison and a $100,000 fine. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, a condition of Breitnauer's release has been regular drug testing and all of the tests to this date have come back clean.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 10th.
