BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Town of Tonawanda man now admits he stole drugs from a prescription drop-off box while working as a paramedic.

Jeremy Pecoraro, 40, pleaded guilty in Grand Island Town Court to attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Pecoraro was found in possession of prescription pills on March 22, 2019. The drugs had been taken from the drop-off box inside the Town of Tonawanda Police Department.

Pecoraro worked as a paramedic for the town at the time. He has since been fired.

Pecoraro was sentenced to a year of conditional discharge. During that time, he must find a new job and complete mandatory counseling at Horizon Health Services.
