HMABURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — A former Hamburg Police captain is facing two additional charges of harassment following a domestic dispute case involving his wife.

Chris Monaco appeared in court Tuesday morning. Two Town of Hamburg police officers are accusing Monaco of physical contact while the officers were performing their duties in response to a domestic disturbance at his home back in May.

The former captain is charged with obstruction of justice after police say he tried to interfere with the investigation by telling his wife "do not talk to him." The assistant DA asked for a non-contact order between Monaco and his wife. Monaco's wife called 911 then hung up when the incident happened.

There will be no change in venue despite the fact that Monaco worked at the same place the proceedings are happening. He is expected back in court in September.
