BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A former City Honors middle school technology teacher has been formally indicted on child pornography charges.

Tuesday, Peter Hingston, 59 of Amherst, was indicted by a Federal grand jury for two counts of production of child pornography and possession of child pornography. Hingston was originally arrested in September of 2019 after a complaint.

According to prosecutors, Hingston used a GoPro camera to photograph or record female students in his classes. Multiple students reported Hingston's actions. An examination of his camera revealed a number of videos of Hingston exposing himself and using images of the victims in a sexual manner, investigators said.

The Buffalo Public School District put Hingston on leave in June of 2019 after a student alerted school officials to Hingston's alleged behavior.

Anyone with additional information related to this case or who feel they may have also been victimized by Hingston is asked to call the FBI's Buffalo office at 843-1616.
