BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Former NFL quarterback Tarvaris Jackson was killed in a car crash last night in Alabama, NFL Network Reporter Ian Rapoport reports. He was 36.

Jackson spent the 2012 season with the Bills but not play a regular-season game.

A second-round pick from Alabama State in 2006, Jackson spent his first five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before joining Seattle in 2011.

After a year in Buffalo behind starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jackson headed back to Seattle in 2013 to play backup for Russell Wilson. He earned a Super Bowl ring in 2014.

Most recently, Jackson served as quarterback coach at Tennessee State University.
