BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Five people were injured in two separate car accidents in Buffalo, that happened around the same time Sunday morning.

Buffalo Police say a Dodge Durango was traveling on St. Louis Avenue around 3:30am, when it hit a tree. The 26-year-old driver was sent to ECMC where he is listed in critical condition. Investigators are trying to identify the other two passengers in the car and if speed was a factor. It is unclear if they were also injured.

Another Buffalo crash sent four people to the hospital. It happened on Bailey Avenue, between Rounds and Highgate, also around 3:30am. The crash involved five cars in total. Police say a vehicle was going south, when it hit three cars going north. A fifth car then also hit the others. The driver of the car going the wrong way received several traffic tickets. No criminal charges have been filed and no one was seriously injured.
