Five cases of measles confirmed within Wyoming County community

ALBANY, N.Y. (WKBW) — The New York State Department of Health says there are five confirmed cases of measles within a Mennonite community in Wyoming County.

The state, along with the Wyoming County Health Department are working to determine whether there were additional exposures and say those who believe they may have measles symptoms to contact the health department or their healthcare provider.

The state says Wyoming County officials are in communication with the Mennonite community to discuss the importance of being vaccinated to prevent the spread of measles.
