BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A 3-alarm fire broke out at the Corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Chenango Street in Buffalo.

Firefighters are working from the inside to battle the flames.

Buffalo Fire Commissioner William Renaldo tells the 7 Eyewitness News team at the scene that there were people on top floor, they all got out.

Two hair salons occupy the first floor of the building. They are facing extensive damage.

It's important to note that Western New York is expected to move into Phase Two of reopening today, which includes hair salons. It is unknown if these two businesses had plans to reopen.

The Red Cross of Western New York says it's helping 12 people displaced by the fire.

This is a developing story.
