JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Jamestown Police say a man is in custody following a fight that led to shots being fired early Saturday morning.
According to police, around 1:30 a.m. officers responded to the report of a fight with two shots fired in the area of 45 Franklin Street.
Officers at the scene determined the individual who fired the shots, 34-year-old Desimon J. Elston, ran from the scene and into a nearby residence.
Elston was located and taken into custody in a neighboring yard.
After obtaining a search warrant, police recovered a .45 cal pistol in the residence.
Elston faces a second degree criminal possession of a weapon charge and is currently awaiting arraignment in the city jail.
Police say the investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected.
