BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo police confirm they are looking for a missing teenager who was last seen on Friday afternoon.

Robert Jones was last seen in South Buffalo wearing a gray Buffalo Sabres jacket, navy pants and gray, plaid long sleeved shirt. He was also carrying a gray backpack.

14-year-old Jones is a freshman at Bishop Timon St. Jude High School in South Buffalo.

Nicole Jones is Jones's aunt and legal guardian.

Jones appeared outside the high school Monday morning telling 7 Eyewitness News her nephew has been spotted around the area over the last four days, but they still have been unable to locate him. He was spotted on South Park, Arbour Lane near Discovery School and the Burger King on Seneca Street in West Seneca.

Jones says the last time he saw her nephew was Friday morning as he headed out for school.

“Said, I love you, told him to have a good day. He gave me a smile and said he would see me later and that was it,” Jones recalled.

Jones says her nephew has spent time away in the past, but only for a couple of hours at a time.

"If he had a rough day and he got into a little trouble and didn’t want to face the music, he would stay out a little bit and come back - nothing nearly of this magnitude and this is why it’s very concerning," stated Jones.

But Jones says she doesn't want to downplay this as she pleads for the public to keep calling police with any leads.

“I don’t want to down play it and make people think that this is just a run of the mill kid who has had a bad day. This is now four days and so any time a 14 year old is without their family for four days - it’s not good. The longer he’s gone, the more dangerous it is," Jones teared up.

His aunt also noted that the teen does not have a cell phone on him, only a school laptop, but they've been unable to detect the location of it because he has had it turned off.

"Roberts football team mates call him goofy – he’s a bit of a silly kid, kind of a class clown," remarked Jones.

Jones described her nephew as athletic but skinny with a buzz hair cut, about 5'7 and weighing 140 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Buffalo Police.
