BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A week later, and the family of Tyshawn Burts continues to mourn his loss.

“Ty was funny. Ty was loving,” said his second cousin, Delvin Payton.

Burts was 15. His birthday was in May. He was an honor-roll student.

Last week, on the corner Jewett and Holden, he was gunned down. His family and his friends held a vigil on that same corner and released balloons.

His second cousin, who has a 15 year old of his own, spoke directly to the kids in the neighborhood.

“These streets don't love nobody. The blood has been shed. It's going to dry up and then there is going to be some more. When is going to stop? It's up to us,” said Payton.
