BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — On April 30th, 50-year-old Joseph Sullivan was found dead in his home on Minnesota Avenue. His daughter Tashema found out from her sister while at work.

"My first initial thought is not that someone would take him from me," Tashema Sullivan said.

When Tashema saw that homicide detectives were investigating the case, she became suspicious that someone was responsible for her father's death.

"I'm trying to be patient, we all are trying to be patient because the most important thing is just to know."

Wednesday morning, a Buffalo Police spokesperson confirmed that Sullivan was indeed a homicide victim. Investigators say the cause of Sullivan's death is blunt force trauma. The crime is still under investigation and no suspects have been charged at this point.

"(I hope it's not) a situation where we never find out what happens to him or get any justice for him" Tashema said.

There is a vigil scheduled for May 8th at 6pm outside of the 71 Minnesota Avenue home. All are encouraged to attend.
