BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Erie County Democrats have re-elected Jeremy Zellner to a 5th term as party chairman.

Because of COVID-19, committee members voted by proxy, and in person at Fontana's Grove on Clinton Street.

Zellner, who was first named party chair in 2012, is a graduate of Buffalo State College, and lives with his wife and their two children in the City of Tonawanda.

"We've never been stronger and better positioned to keep our momentum going," Zellner said in a statement. "We've twice reelected County Executive Poloncarz, retaken the county legislature majority, swept towns we never have before, and flipped three Assembly seats from red to blue. In 38 days we will prove again that this party is united and moving forward, and we will be celebrating with Democrats across America on an Election Night that will truly be a turning point for our nation."
