BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Erie County is alerting residents after seeing a sudden spike in suspected overdose deaths.

Authorities say there were seven potential deaths possibly attributed to opioids between the dates of March 1 and March 3. Local leaders say this could indicate the product on the street has a strong potency, but they add that nothing unusual has been reported by law enforcement.

Health officials are reminding anyone who struggle with addiction to always carry Narcan at all times. You can call 716-858-823 for a Narcan kit or for directions on how to use it.
