BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A ransomware attack has knocked Erie Community College's digital operations offline.
A college spokesperson says the school network was hit this morning. ECC's website is down and student and staff email is currently not accessible.
College officials believe student data stored on the cloud was not impacted, but computers logged into the school's network overnight received "malware screens" this morning indicating the user was locked out.
