Empty Amherst school struck by gunfire

AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — An investigation is underway after an Amherst elementary school was struck by bullets, early Tuesday morning.

Amherst Police say they received reports of shots fired near the Windermere School around 1:30 in the morning. Once on the scene, they discovered minor damage "consistent with gunfire" on the school building.

No one was inside the school at the time.
