NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — An elderly woman who was critically injured Monday morning following a bike crash in Niagara Falls has died.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at Hyde Park Boulevard and Grand Avenue around 11:30 a.m.

Investigators say a 75-year-old driver was traveling east on Grand Avenue and came to a stop at the stop sign at Hyde Park. While making a left turn, police say, his vehicle collided with 86-year-old cyclist Beverly Laughlan, who was crossing Hyde Park Boulevard, heading west. The Niagara Falls woman was thrown from her bike, suffering head injuries in the collision.

According to Niagara Falls police, the driver flagged down a passing ambulance. Laughlan was rushed to ECMC for surgery.
