ECMC nurse arraigned after allegedly stealing prescription medication

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — An Erie County Medical Center nurse was arraigned Monday after allegedly stealing prescription medication.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says 45-year-old Andrew Grzeskowiak of North Tonawanda allegedly made false entries in patient medical records on multiple occasions to obtain prescriptions fraudulently between June 2019 and September 2019.

Grzeskowiak was employed as a nurse at ECMC during the time of the alleged incidents.

He faces the following charges:

  • Two counts of falsifying business records in the second degree
  • One count of obtain a controlled substance/prescription by fraud
  • One count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree

Grzeskowiak is scheduled to return to court February 20th, he remains released on his own recognizance.
