BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Erie County Medical Center and the African American Health Equity Task Force are launching a new community outreach program aimed at helping minority neighborhoods.
The program will provide comprehensive social, behavioral health and pastoral services, in addition to primary healthcare, to African Americans and the Latinx community in 10 zip codes in Buffalo, Lackawanna, and Niagara Falls.
The outreach effort will be funded by a $1.125 million grant from the ECMC Corporation to the AAHETF, creating a community-based healthcare initiative designed to support Buffalo’s vulnerable, at-risk population during the COVID-19 pandemic.
