WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Emergency crews in Upstate New York rescued a bald eagle after investigators say it was struck by a vehicle.
The DEC says it looks as if the eagle was feeding on a dead carcass on the side of the road.
Investigators believe the eagle suffered a broken left wing.
Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies used a blanket to secure the wing and eagle to prevent further injury.
The eagle was taken to an animal health center outside of Watertown.
The DEC says the eagle is recovering and doing well at the clinic. She is expected to recover and will be released back into the wild.
