DUNKIRK, N.Y. (WKBW) — Police are investigating a deadly crash involving a vehicle and a train in Dunkirk on Tuesday.
Dunkirk police said emergency crews responded to the report of a vehicle that was struck by a train at Middle Road and the CSX railroad crossing at 1:30 p.m. The driver, identified as 77-year-old Adolf E. Herdzik, was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Officials say the investigation may take time to complete.
