LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WKBW) — A driver from Virginia died after a one-car crash early this morning in Lockport.
According to police, the 23 year-old driver was heading north on South Transit Road near High Street just after 4:30 a.m. when the car crossed into the southbound lanes, went off the road and hit a tree.
The driver was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A male passenger in his car, also 23, was taken to ECMC for treatment.
Police are not releasing the names of the victims until family members are notified.
