NORTH BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Here's one way to feed your movie fix during the COVID-19 pandemic - park it at a pop-up drive-in in North Buffalo.

Dark Alley Drive-In is taking over the parking lot of the former Kmart store on Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo to present "Buffalo's premiere alternative pop-up cinema."

The 1984 rock musical drama "Purple Rain" will appear on a screen outside the shuttered store Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m.

"The Toxic Avenger" will play August 14 at 9 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online for $10 per car plus a $2.14 processing fee. The film's soundtrack will be shared through an FM radio station.

Organizers ask everyone to arrive as close to 8:30 p.m. as possible. Restrooms will not be available, but gourmet popcorn orders will be taken at the time you purchase your ticket.

Dark Alley says the outdoor movies will continue until local cinemas are allowed to reopen.
