BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The story behind ExQuizit starts with me as a young girl," owner of ExQuizit Beauty Salon & Body Suite JacQui Flowers said. "I lived in this neighborhood on the east side of Buffalo and I would always walk by the salon and wonder, wow, what’s inside there? You know, what do they do in there? Of course it was hair but it had to be so much more."

Flowers said she was captivated by the salon’s size.

“It was like a mini-mansion to me.”

A mansion that would one day become hers.

“Growing up, I was definitely gonna be your lawyer. I was definitely going back to school to be your judge," she said.

But, she kept finding herself turning back to hair.

“I just had a natural talent for hairstyling and beauty needs.”

So in 2008, Flowers opened ExQuizit Beauty Salon & Body Suite in the exact location of her old neighborhood salon. Flowers said she chose the Kensington Avenue location to inspire the next generation of hairstylists. She’s even painted her salon doors pink to stand out.

“Its inspirational to other young girls that walk past the pink door and wonder, what’s behind that pink door,” she said.

The simple answer: all things beauty.

“We do body contouring, waxing, eyelashes, keratin treatments, braids...”and so much more. And right now, they are open for business.

“We have a lot of treatments and a whole lot of color services going on these days.”

Flowers says she's glad to be back in her second home.

“It’s a really phenomenal feeling. Buffalo’s east side needs businesses like these."
