Donate to your food bank by leaving food at your mailbox

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Postal carriers across the nation are collecting food donations for their Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

Western New Yorkers can help their neighbors served by Feed More WNY by putting out non-perishable donations in a bag near their mailbox on Saturday, May 11th.

The foods most wanted food items include canned meats like tuna, chicken and salmon, canned and boxed meals like soups, chili, stew, macaroni and cheese, canned or dried beans, canned fruits, 100 percent fruit juice, canned vegetables, cooking oil and boxed cooking mixes.

Please do not put out glass containers, rusty or unlabeled cans, perishable items, homemade items, alcohol or soda.

All donations collected by U.S. Postal Carriers will be kept locally in the community.
