(WKBW) — A dog rescued by a Buffalo native is headed to the Puppy Bowl.

Meet Sol. She was a small, scared and emaciated puppy when Maureen Cattieu, a Willliamsville East graduate, and volunteers at Cartagena Paws rescued her in June 2019.

This is video from the day she was rescued:

Sol was terrified of people and closed her eyes out of fear when people picked her up. But after two to three months at Cartagena Paws, she was adopted by a Florida man and his family.

Now, people from all over will get to admire Sol when she and 95 other puppies compete in the 16th Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. It will air at 3 p.m. on Sunday February 2, hours before an NFL champion is crowned.
