BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — How healthy do your fingernails look? Experts say ridges, chips, or discoloration could be signs of a health issue.

Health experts say you should talk to your doctor if you notice any changes in your nail's color or texture. That's because diabetes can cause fingernails to turn a yellowish color, and about a quarter of people with dark skin who get melanoma actually show signs on the ends of their fingers.

The best thing to do is ask a health professional if you notice any changes.
