BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The New York Department of Environmental Conservation is holding a webinar Tuesday about the invasive jumping worms in Western New York.
Last week we told you about how a University at Buffalo professor says Amynthas, invasive "jumping" earthworms with destructive potential, are appearing in Western New York area.
The Department of Environmental Conservation says these worms damage the following
- soil ecosystems
- soil structure
- nutrient cycling
- physical stability of plant communities around them
The webinar takes place from 10-11:30 a.m.
