BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The New York Department of Environmental Conservation is holding a webinar Tuesday about the invasive jumping worms in Western New York.

Last week we told you about how a University at Buffalo professor says Amynthas, invasive "jumping" earthworms with destructive potential, are appearing in Western New York area.

The Department of Environmental Conservation says these worms damage the following

  • soil ecosystems
  • soil structure
  • nutrient cycling
  • physical stability of plant communities around them

The webinar takes place from 10-11:30 a.m.
