BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Sheriff's deputies are investigating a deadly crash involving a garbage truck and a pedestrian in Niagara County.
Investigators say 49-year-old Robert Knibbs was hit by the truck in front of his home, on Cambria Wilson Road in Cambria around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
According to the sheriff's office, Knibbs suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for several hours while police conducted the investigation.
The garbage truck, which belongs to Modern Disposal, remained at the scene of the crash. No charges have been filed against the driver but the investigation is ongoing.
