BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The 47,000 square foot store at Starin and Hertel is now open for business.

It's been a project more than a decade in the making for owner of Dash's Markets, Joe Dash. "It's been rough, it's a lot of work. We're a small company," says Dash, fighting through tears. The store opening is emotional for him, tied to his family history. "My mom and my dad, I think about them. I think about my grandparents. They're all special to me...It's hard not to think about the business and not think about them."

The new Dash's Market stands on the same grounds as the former Hertel market. It's two stories tall, offering seating for more than 200 people on the second floor. The market itself boasts new items and stations not found in any other Dash's Market location. There's a quick-cooking custom pizza oven, electronic ordering for sandwiches and pizzas, a fresh pasta station and made-to-order hot breakfast.

The second floor also boasts two community rooms for non-profits and community groups to use.

The store is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. To learn more, click here.
