BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday that the state is working with the Buffalo Bills to figure out if it's possible to "safely allow some fans" at a playoff game.

The Department of Health is looking at an "experimental model", working with data and testing, to see if it is possible to have some fans at the game, according to Gov. Cuomo.

"We are talking to the Bills. We're researching teams and protocols across the nation," said Gov. Cuomo in a conference call.

Fans have not been allowed to attend home games this season due to state health guidelines in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

On Sunday, the governor said the decision to allow fans will be up to the state health department.

"We're working with the Bills, it's all a work in progress," says the governor.

The governor says he has not been to the stadium recently.
