AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — Multiple crews are investigating a fire in the Eggertsville section of Amherst.
Authorities say they responded to a fire call just before 4:30, Wednesday afternoon at a two and a half story home at 1775 Eggert Road, and found smoke coming from the home.
The following departments assisted with the fire, and say four adults, four children, and a dog are all accounted for, while a cat remains missing:
- American Red Cross
- Amherst Central Fire Alarm
- Amherst Fire Control
- Amherst Fire Inspectors
- Amherst Police Department
- Eggertsville Hose Company
- North Bailey Fire Company
- Snyder Fire Department
Damage is estimated at $70,000 to the structure, and $40,000 to the contents for a total of $110,000.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
