Crews battle three-alarm fire on Brinkman Avenue in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Fire crews battled a three-alarm fire early Monday morning in Buffalo.

The fire broke out just before 6:00 a.m. on Brinkman Avenue between Walden Avenue and Scheu Park.

The fire destroyed one home, which collapsed around 6:30 a.m. It also damaged two neighboring homes; the Buffalo Fire Department told 7 News everyone got out of those houses safely.

Fire officials said one person who lived at the home was not there when the fire broke out.

The department also told 7 News at the scene the power was knocked out on the entire block of Brinkman where the house stood. It's not clear when it will be restored.

Investigators estimate the damage done to the home totaled $175,000, including the collapsed roof; more than $250,000 in damage was done to the two neighboring homes.

No one was hurt; the cause of the fire is under investigation.
