Crash in Darien Center after concert sends six to Erie County Medical Center

DARIEN CENTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — Six people are recovering after a two-car crash in Darien Center.

Troopers told Video News Service it happened late Wednesday night, following the Lil' Wayne/blink-182 concert at the Darien Lake Ampitheater.

According to troopers, a Subaru SUV caused the crash when it ran a stop sign at Harlow Road and Route 20, hitting a jeep.

The driver of the Subaru had to be extricated and taken by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center. Charges are pending against the driver, troopers said.

The passenger in the front seat of the Subaru, plus all four occupants of the Jeep, were also taken to ECMC by ambulance.

The conditions of those involved were not immediately available.

Drugs or alcohol did not factor into the crash, troopers said.
