BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A New York State corrections officer is charged with receipt and possession of child pornography.
Joseph Chojnacki, 26, of Cheektowaga was arrested after police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
According to federal prosecutors, investigators found 8,500 images and 200 videos of suspected child pornography in Chojnacki's possession after searching his Louis Street home.
Chojnacki is now on home detention. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
His status with the New York State Department of Corrections is unknown at this time.
