BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Expect a lot of traffic if you're anywhere near Delaware Park Thursday afternoon.

Thousands of runners are expected to take part in this year's J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge.

The race starts at 6:25 p.m. However, you may want to avoid some of the areas around Delaware Park before then, if you can. Officials say to expect heavy traffic on Route 198 at the Parkside Exit between 4 and 7 in the evening.

Traffic around Buffalo State College will be heavy too, as runners are expected to take a shuttle from the campus to Delaware Park.

Streets around the park will be closed as a result. Here's a list below:

The following streets will be closed between 5 and 8:15 p.m.

· Amherst Street (from Colvin Avenue to Nottingham Terrace)

The following streets will be closed between 6:10 and 8:15 p.m.

· The primary race course on Delaware Avenue, affecting also Amherst to West Ferry, and parts of Nottingham Terrace and Middlesex Road.

Last year , officials say more than 14,000 runners and walkers took part in the Corporate Challenge.
