AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — President Trump's former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski says the message behind President Trump's "lynching" tweet is "right".

Speaking from a GOP fundraiser at Sean Patrick's banquet facility in Amherst Tuesday night, Lewandowski stopped short of defending his former boss's word choice, but was quick to defend the message behind it.

"The message in this case is this is a political impeachment," Lewandowski said.

On Tuesday morning, President Trump referred to the House of Representatives' impeachment inquiry as "a lynching," drawing outrage from African-American legislators and human rights activists.

"Sometimes the president uses coarse language and sometimes it offends people, the way he talks," Lewandowski said.

"I'm not here to dissect how the president discusses things, he's a very straightforward talker he controls his own twitter account, I'm not here to justify it, not justify it," Lewandowski added.
