AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — A construction worker had to be extricated by first responders after being pinned between a dump truck and an SUV in Amherst Thursday morning.

Police say the 56-year-old Niagara Falls man was working on the sidewalks at the corner of Lamarck Dr. and Kensington Ave. when he was hit and pinned between the two vehicles. He was taken to ECMC with injuries that are described by police as "non-life threatening."

According to police a 19-year-old woman from East Aurora was driving the vehicle that collided with a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old man from Cheektowaga and then struck the 56-year-old construction worker.

No other injuries were reported. Police expect Kensington Ave to be closed during an investigation Thursday morning.
