BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The responses to our Facebook post about the fights that broke out December 26 at the Walden Galleria are being called racist and bigoted by Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.
He first tweeted his response expressing his distress at the comments and linking to a Facebook post written by Monica Boyd Elderkin, and said that this incident is being treated much differently than others.
If you are distressed like I am with the horrible comments to local media's stories about last night's event at the Galleria Mall I hope you will join me and others in calling out this for what it is: pure bigotry and racism.

“The problem is that there's a double standard - if African-American teenagers get into a fight, to some of these individuals, they're ‘animals’; if white teenagers get into a fight at a Bills game… they're just boys being boys," said Poloncarz.
