BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The SPCA Serving Erie County sending out a big thank you to a concerned neighbor who saved the life of a kitten. The neighbor spotted the little cat perched in the window of a semi-abandoned Buffalo home on with curtain cords wrapped around its neck. One false move and the kitten could lose its life.

The neighbor immediately called the SPCA for help and with the assistance of the Buffalo Police Department, responders were able to get into the home and safely remove the kitten from the life-threatening situation.

Thank you to the savvy Buffalonian who noticed this kitten's potentially-fatal situation, and thanks also to the Buffalo Police and Buffalo Firefighters! Moments like these are what truly define the City of Good Neighbors!

The kitten is now resting comfortably at the SPCA's infirmary in West Seneca. And as of right now, she's not up for adoption.
