KENMORE, N.Y. (WKBW) — The kindness of Western New Yorkers is being manifested in thousands of prom dresses, hundreds of pairs of shoes, jewelry and handbags.

Colvin Cleaners in Kenmore is stockpiling thousands of gowns, cleaning them, repairing them and then custom-fitting them to girls in Western New York who need a little help getting outfitted for the big night.

"It means so much not only to me, but to our employees, our volunteers and to the girls who truly deserve this," says Paull Billoni, President of Colvin Cleaners. The program is in its 14th year.

Colvin Cleaners plays the role of fairy godmother, pairing with Sheas to provide a magical space for high schoolers to try on gowns and get them custom-fitted. If you know a girl that needs a dress, all they need is to show a school ID. It's best if they try and stick to the scheduled times for their school, but they can arrange another time if it doesn't work for their schedule. The fittings are April 16th, 17th and 18th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

To donate, you can drop off at any time at Colvin Cleaners on Elmwood, any Erie County DMV office or any WNY Allstate location.
