BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The City of Buffalo announced playgrounds and fitness stations located throughout the city will reopen July 10.

The city says playgrounds are cleaned weekly but the equipment is not sterilized. Officials urge playground users to wash their hands frequently, including before and after use of equipment. If parents or children feel sick they are asked to stay home.

Officials say basketball courts and outdoor hockey courts remain closed until further notice. Tennis courts are open at 50 percent capacity. The Delaware Park, South Park and Cazenovia Park golf courses are open.

The city is now accepting applications for picnic shelter rentals, you can find the application here. Those renting the shelter are restricted to the rental of a single shelter with 25 people or less. Park restroom facilities remain closed but portable toilets will be available.

"All City parks remain open for passive use from sunrise to sunset, with visitors asked to follow social distancing practices. All park activities are prohibited after dark," a release from the mayor's office states.
